On the 6th day of his presidency, Saddam Hussein called in an emergency session of his own Party (Ba'ath) leaders. There, as he calmly smoked a cigar gifted to him by Fidel Castro, he read out the names of 68 party leaders who were all arrested. About 30 were executed, the rest put in prison.
